JAKARTA. This year the Indonesian shoe industry will be supported  investors with the advent of shoes that comes from abroad.

Chairman of the Association of Indonesian footwear (Asprisindo) Eddy Widjanarko said that this year there are at least three investors from the United States shoes (USA) who are interested in investing in Indonesia. They are the principal brands of shoes, New Balance, Nike, and Payless ShoeSource Inc..

The inclusion of these three investors, could be an indication that the Indonesian shoe industry can still compete. Unfortunately, Eddy did not know how much investment will be disbursed each of these investors. The bright, according to Eddy, the estimated production from these companies is around 24 million million pairs per year. That is, in the first year of the three principals were productive, the value of disbursed investment could reach U.S. $ 480 million. Most of their products for export.

Kezia’s Cutting Department

It is the department that produces the top part of shoes that is also called as upper. In this section, high skilled, planned and estimated operations are needed in order to reduce the waste of leathers in the minimum level possible. There is possibility if leathers have various defects on the surface so that it should be avoided. Then those pieces will not be used for the uppers. This section starts in cutting the materials (leather skin) in accordance with the design of shoes with the metal strip knives. The pieces are cut from the various materials that at the end it will take the form of the uppers (part of shoes).

Kezia’s Machining Department

In this department, sewing all pieces is done by machine that will produce the complete upper. Here some steps in this section as named below:

1. Sewing the collection of pieces together by machine
2. Using the post machine to form the 3-dimensions of the upper. For making more attractive, there will be various processes done on the upper surface.

Kezindo’s Lasting & Making Department

When the upper is done, next is forming it into the shape of the foot which is helped by Last. Last is made under the foot shape that used a form of plastic. This section divided into several processes, those are:

1. Including the insole to be at the bottom of the shoe. Insole is mounted on the lower surface when we make welted shoe. Next is sewing the welt, plastic or leather through the ribs into the shoe. Only sole is attached to the welt while the others two are stitched together.
2. Installing heel for the shoes is the next step to be done. In making flat shoes, this step makes the process much less. It means that the insole is flat and the upper formed in “lasted”, the surface of the insole is in the glue. The upper becomes stick, and then makes a rough so that the glue will be absorbed on the surface then finally the glue becomes more powerful. The first form is probably the soles as the separate part and glue on the upper back of the shoe will be lasted the full.

Kezia’s Finishing Department

The material used for making a shoe results to the finishing of the shoe. If the material used is leather, we will trim and buff the sole edge and heel to meet smooth finish. For more they will be stained, polished and waxed so that it shows an attractive finish and ensure that the edge is water resistant. While the bottom is usually glazed lightly, stained and polished. Marking the surface with various types of patterns is done next to provide a complete craft. At the end, we can say that a “finished shoe” now has been made.
Kezia’s Warehouse

Warehouse is one of the important departments in our company. This department specializes in checking carefully the shoes for quality control.

Quality Control

This step goes by testing the shoe material using procedures developed by the Shoe and Allied Trades Research Association (Satra). Here is where every element of the shoe will be tested by provided devices. After the shoe is completed, it will be checked again by an inspector at the factory to find if there is any defect such as poor checking eternal, incomplete cement bonding, and stitching errors. As we know some injury can be happened to the foot, the tendon and the ligaments in the foot, so that we keep developing other tests to evaluate absorption properties of the shoe’s shock.

In the shoes operating room, shoes fit with an internal sock that can be of any length-full, half or quarter. The details of manufacturer or any applicable brand name are they usually come with. Cleaning, polishing and spraying are done for making them perfect, but it depends on the materials used for the uppers. Then we attach laces or any tags such as shoe care instruction. Shoes, finally, be packed in boxes.

The main part of the shoe is sole which consists of insole, outsole and Midsole. Insole is a layer of the inside of a shoe. In general, the shoes have a removable insole or can be replaced. This part serves to increase the comfort of shoes. Insole can be added to form a convenient basis for the user, set the dampness in the shoe, and to be designed to help user’s foot health.

Outsole

Outsole is the bottom of the shoe in contact with the ground. For the outsole can be made from various types of materials. Determination of material from the outsole depends on the level of absorption material in the ground (grip), durability, and resistance to water. Midsole
