PARTS OF SHOE

The basis of a shoe, made up of several parts including:

The main part of the shoe is sole which consists of insole, outsole and Midsole. Insole is a layer of the inside of a shoe. In general, the shoes have a removable insole or can be replaced. This part serves to increase the comfort of shoes. Insole can be added to form a convenient basis for the user, set the dampness in the shoe, and to be designed to help user’s foot health.

Outsole

Outsole is the bottom of the shoe in contact with the ground. For the outsole can be made from various types of materials. Determination of material from the outsole depends on the level of absorption material in the ground (grip), durability, and resistance to water. For example for dress shoes use leather, for work or casual shoes made of rubber or synthetic.

Midsole

Midsole is the middle between the insole with the outsole, which works to help reduce or vibration damping. For running shoes, a midsole is usually placed in the heel that is to reduce vibration. For the midsole, the material used can vary, depending on the policy and research from the manufacturer.

Heel

Heel is part of the outsole. The material used in generally equal to the outsole. The using of heels, for example can be seen in fashion, for making someone to have a taller appearance.

Vamp / Upper

It is the top of the shoe. For fashion shoes usually this part is decorated to make it more interesting and attractive. Beach sandals or flip flop sandals do not have this part. Vamp is the quarter connection on both sides of the shoe.
